Euthanasia, the right to die

Euthanasia is defined as “the intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her alleged benefit”   


Our constitution says on art. 19 N° 1 “The Constitution guarantees all persons: The right to life and physical and mental integrity of the person” every human been in this country not just have the right to live, but also to dispose of their own life, that’s the spirit of our legislation and we can see it in the fact that suicide isn’t penalized.


The problem begins when he needs help to commit it. The help to the suicide is a crime typified on our penal code. The Article 393 Penal Code “Whoever knowingly assists another to commit suicide shall suffer the penalty of imprisonment in its medium to maximum levels, if it achieves death.” 


But is or is not viable to allow a person who wants to end his life but that cannot do it helps him to achieve his will? What’s the difference between a person who has the skills with someone that’s unable to do it?


My opinion is that the government cannot have the right to forbid chose when you have to die, and people who are disabled to do it himself should be helped to do it. It’s a thing of human dignity and as is guarantee on our constitution, government should allow Euthanasia.

Post Number 8 The Strength of Wheels

The pollution on Santiago is a usual topic, especially on winter when the weather doesn’t contributes to improves the situation. Because of that since I was little I had a special attention to take care of the Air, If I watch a Bus that expelled too much gray fume the little me got angry. So with all these things in my mind I stared to prefer walking and biking rather than go there in cars or public transport. Therefore the night before I schedule my day to make them efficient, If the trip isn’t too far I go walking.

Also this year I slowly stared to lose the fear to the street riding my bike to get into places. Is really hard to do it, especially if you are distracted like me, when you are riding a bike you must have eyes in your back and also ninja reflex, car drivers are crazy and don’t respect the helpless bike driver thence that for many year I was a sidewalk bike rider, pitifully.

About that, bike path in Chile are way too far to be good, but at least are acceptable, even though in some places get confusing and get mixed with the sidewalk making the pedestrians angry.

Well there is not a bike culture in Chile, not yet, but there were huge improvements  last years still a large path to continue.

Post Number 3 a country I’d like to visit

Since I was little I’ve always dreamed about to get on a hot air balloon and travel around the globe I fantasized been like Eliza Thornberry and well, even though I tried I never could talk to animals.

But now even when I have in mind travel around the world it’s stuck in my head travel to New Zealand. About 12 years ago when I read The Lord of the Rings and then I watched the movie I dream going there because they filmed the movie in that country.

New Zealand has beautiful places, mountains and beach really closer and Kiwis, this really cute bird who can not fly.

I’ve looking for programs that allows you go and work in the country for a few month so maybe I’ll apply to go there and enjoy taking a walk around the locations of the movie who’s based on my favorite book or to meet face to face a little kiwi :)

Post number 2 TV and Movies

I usually watch films and TV series at home, I think that is because I prefer watch TV series rather than films, but when I watch films at home usually I download them because movies that I like aren’t at blockbuster.

One of my passions is watch TV series I have a kind of calendar in my mind about which day they premiere a new chapter of my favorites TV series. Now I’m following Bones, The big bang Theory, How I met your mother and New Girl.

About movies I like the ones who gives me a lesson a warm feeling but I’m not talking about marley and me, although the dog stole my heart, the last one that I watch was “The elegance of the Hedgehog” I hadn’t references of the movie but I’m a huge fan of hedgehogs so just for the title and a few critics I watched it, even though none hedgehog appears in the movie the movie (which is based in the book with the same name) shows a woman, well I don’t want to do  spoiler jajaja but the comparison with the janitor and the hedgehog is awesome .

Post number 1 a new and strange semester

Well, this semester stared in a really particular way, after 6 month on strike the beginning is hard specially wake up in the morning while others are asleep jaja but the benefits are that i can enjoy the days since the very beginning of them.

My expectations about this semester are have joy in the process even if is stressful so I took a few subjects just 5 the ones that I like the most and others that helps to not to be delayed with my terms. This decision had make ne all this process easier and I know that It’ll be a little harder next semester but it had allow me to enjoy this summer and the Holydays, well I hope that this semester ends quickly!

My Blogging Experience

This is the last post of the semester and I really enjoy it, I can see how much I’ve improved my English, before this experience I couldn’t write in English because I didn’t knew how to do it, I hadn’t practiced so when I needed to write I was insecure, now I can write with much more confidence also I’ve learned a lot of new words and who to write word that I knew how to say it but no how to write it.
The advantages of blogging in the class is the connection that it creates I can read the works of my classmates and shear opinions with others, hum… the disadvantages… homework is always a  disadvantage jajajaja but necessary to improve don’t you think??

My most embarrassing moment

Ouh I was avoiding this post but the day has come. One of my most embarrassing moments happened when I was in a class of penal law, the professor was checking the list and my friends and I were talking about stuff and we didn’t pay attention to the list. We continued  talking and talking quickly, mainly the professor continued checking till a friend told me a joke, it was so funny I don’t remember what she said but I laughed so loud! In the room wasn’t crowded at all, so everyone heard it and turned their heads to me also the professor. He looked at me and said “are you Valenzuela?” (that was the name that he said on the list) I said “No, I’m Chávez, professor” and the he said “you girl are too noisy I’m going to separated you if you continuous talking”  that doesn't happened to me since elementary school, I was red of ashamed so I kept my mouth shut and pay attention to the class.
